In the second round, Conner faced Chandler Nelson from the Hickory Wrestling Club. The first period ended with the score tied at 0-0. Conner chose the down position to start the second period and scored first with an escape to lead 1-0. Then Chandler scored two points on a takedown, but Conner was able to score two points on a reversal to close the second round at 3-2 with Conner leading. Chandler was in the down position to start the third period, but was unable to gain an escape, and the match ended with Conner victorious.
That win put Conner in the Quarter Finals facing Aaron Runzo from the powerful Great Bridge Mat Rats Wrestling Club. Conner scored late in the first period to lead 2-0, and then lost a penalty point for using a forearm to the back of Runzo’s head.
