Seven years ago the Hazel
River was nominated to Tier III, the State’s highest quality water system. Our nomination was held up for several years while the State appointed a citizens committee to study rules for proceeding with the program.
The nomination of the Hazel was then redone to fit the new procedure. This October the Hazel River nomination came before the State Water Control Board along with five other nominated rivers.
