Rappahannock County youngsters will join other
Scouts and Boy Scout councils Feb. 3-9 in observance
of the Boy Scouts of America's 92nd anniversary.
In Rappahannock, we have one troop with one Scoutmaster and three Assistant Scoutmasters and one pack with one Cubmaster and two Assistant Cubmasters. Nearly one hundred Rappahannock boys are involved in scouting. Numerous volunteers serve in various capacities and give of their time.
Scouting has a national theme, which is, "On My Honor, Timeless Values," and it salutes the many Americans who volunteer and support the Scouting program. Scouting is indebted to its volunteers for contributing to the fun, challenging, and educational activities of Scouting.
Rappahannock is part of the Shenandoah Area . Council and during this month, 7,000 members in the Area Council will recommit themselves to the ideals of Scouting. They will pledge, "On my honor, I will do my best."
For 92 years, Scouting has made a real impact in the lives of young people. No other youth development organization has the support of more than 4.5 million members who understand the value of connecting youth with commuiiities and families.
We commend the countless Rappahannock volunteers who have donated their time and energy to instill timeless values in the lives of Scouts. The invaluable lessons taught to young people in Scouting are made possible only through the unselfish sacrifice and caring of volunteers. Rappahannock Scouts will hold their Blue and Gold Banquet on Feb. 23 and many will be honored at this time but on this 92nd birthday of Scouting, we say, "Congratulations." Scouting is still needed today; its educational program is essential for our youth—the faces of the ^.Jrture.
