nesiaes continuing ner busy theatre schedule, she is also the International Director of Operation Sail Inc., the non-profit organization created by President Kennedy in 1961 to foster goodwill among nations through the spectacular gathering of tall ships.
Among other duties, Ms. Viator supervised the tall ship event in New York harbor on July 4th, 2000 to celebrate the millennium. Combined with an international naval review, it was the largest gathering of vessels in peacetime history.
“Alma has more energy than a power plant,” says Jones, her husband of ten years. They met when he was serving as a Georgia Congressman in 1989. “It was like putting a match to dynamite,” he says.
Jones’s career began at the University of North Carolina in the early 1960s. He has appeared in over ninety theatrical productions, thirty motion pictures, and over two hundred television shows, including his long run as “Cooter” on the international CBS hit, “The Dukes of Hazzard.”
