Carnival begins
tonight and runs
through Saturday
* Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will begin their annual carnival this evening and the event will continue through Saturday at the fire grounds in Sperryville.
Fleet Amusements out of Richmond will be providing rides this year which should feature four to five rides for older children and adults and two or three rides for the younger children.
The parade will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. The queen will be crowned on Saturday and at midnight the awarding of the grand prizes will be held.
As always, the Ladies Auxiliary will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, bqked goods, etc. Anyone wishing to contribute baked goods or work the food shack should contact Michelle Jenkins at,987-9440.
RLEP meeting
slated for June 17
RLEP Board of Directors will meet June 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library.
Members and those wanting to be members are welcome to attend this open meeting which will cover general business topics to include discussions and status reports on the Bolling Commission meetings on the land application of sewage sludge in Virginia: the draft commercial Qghting ordinance; a proposed dean water campaign; an Avenue of Trees proposal for US 211, Rappahannock Bank property; the RLEP Nature Camp preparations; the educational program scheduled in July; and other items to come before the Directors.
