Dance classes to begin
SynergyDance and its founding director, Charmaine Lee, are starting up a new four-week series of classes in energyaware Tribal Belly Dance on Tuesday, June 11. at 6 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall. The classes begin with a 30minute warm up which, like SynergyDance classes, offers a gentle, inner exploration of the natural elements — deep, subtle movements that lead into stretching. The classes go on to explore the healing rhythms and universal energy patterns inherent in Middle Eastern dance, dance that frees the pelvis and explores the feminine qualities in oneself and nature. Bring a scarf, a flowing skirt, jingling belts and a floor mat!
The classes are two hours each and the series includes four Tuesday classes through July 2. The series cost is $48. Tastings at Sharp Rock

Friday twilight polo to begin
The 2002 polo season at Great Meadow in The Plains begins Friday, June 7 and continues through Friday, Sept. 13. On opening night a special tribute will be paid to the victims of Sept. 11 and their families.
The games are played every Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m . beginning with a theme game followed by a premier higher-goal match. Spectators enjoy live bands, food and wine and half-time entertainment tied to popular themes, such as Virginia Wine, Steeplechasing, international polo. Country-Western, Military polo and Foxhunting

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month.
