Congratulations and love to Frances and Gilbert Lawrence on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary! They have lived in Amissville since their marriage on June 7, 1952. Best wishes from their children: Lee, Kay, C.G. and Dean.

The unofficial start of summer is here! School will be out for Culpeper County children on Thursday, June 6 and for Rappahannock children on June 12. The seniors will enjoy their last summer before heading of to college or to starting a career.

The Amissville Baptist Church had a luncheon on Sunday, June 2 for the graduates that attend there. They were: Zachary Ashby, Brandon Dawson. Johnny Ferdetta, Holly Long and Jessica Nawrocki.

The Children’s Choir at Amissville Baptist will be performing a musical called “Go Go Jonah” on June 9 at the 11 a.m. service. The children have put a lot of hard work into this program, and have learned a great deal. All are invited to attend.

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department carnival will be held June 26-29. Tickets for the queen and her court are available from Sandi Carter; you can call 937-4218.
