A number of Sperryville residents and business owners used the public comments portion of Monday 's Board of Supervisors meeting to express their frustration over delays in implementation of Gateway project objectives. Cheri Woodard, owner of the Long View Gallery on Main Street, was the first to speak, and she read from a letter sent to Chairman Pete Estes, the other members of the Board of Supervisors, and Sperryville Gateway Committee Chair Tbm Junk by 27 signatories—representing virtually all of the businesses on Main Street and a number of the residents.
The letter expressed concern that the project was bogged down and needed attention. She asked that the Board of Supervisors take charge, "reconstitute the Sperryville Gateway Committee" (there are three longstanding vacancies), and otherwise
