Mr. McCarthy also noted that draft budgeted expenditures represented a 1.5 percent overall decline from the current year’s budget ($14,616,263 vs. $14,647,494). and the Board agreed to a budget adoption meeting date of June 24 at 6 p.tn.
RNB
The Board briefly discussed the Rappahannock National Banks (RNB) site plan in their "Commercial Centre. Mr. McCarthy stated that five corrections required by the Sewer and Water District had been made hi the site plan, and that a correction to the planting scheme that showed the use of native plants, as required by the County’s Comprehensive Plan, had been made as well. The Board unanimously approved the motion of Bryant Lee to okay the site plan.
The Board also discussed a letter from RNB Executive Vice President and CEO Michael Leake in which he asked for the Board’s expression of support and initial funding for a Rappahannock County Chamber of Commerce. There were some comments made indicating that it was unlikely that the Board would approve any funding for such an organization. but they agreed, by consensus, to Supervisor Roger Welch’s suggestion to table the issue until additional information is obtained.
