Tonight begins the annual Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department's carnival and what a wonderful place for local residents to assemble and enjoy one of the thrills of living in the country. There will be rides and fun for the entire family through Saturday evening.
The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Lots, qf floats from business and civic organizations have signed up in addition to fire engines, rescue squads, antique vehicles, etc.
The crowning of the queen will take place on Saturday night at midnight followed by the awarding of the grand prizes. A total of $1,000 will be given away, $500 for the grand prize and then five $100 prizes.
Be sure to attend and show your support for the fireman, ladies auxiliary, volunteers and all of those that make this event possible.
The ladies of the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department are currently seeking recipes from people in the community and plan to publish a cookbook in the near future. Please show your support for this endeavor and contact any member for additional information.
