1, 1924 in Rixeyville, son of the late Walter James and Julia Walter Curtis.
He was a devoted member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church since 1975 and served as the church treasurer for ten years. He was a volunteer with the Flint Hill Rescue Squad for over 25 years and supported the Flint Hill Fire Department through annual fund drives.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Curtis and William Curtis.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Timmons Curtis; two sons, William J. Curtis of Linden and Robert Curtis and his wife, Sandra Deane Curtis of Tulsa, Okla.; two nieces, Susan Sturgill of Southport, N.C. and Karen Norris of Rockport, Maine and a nephew, Michael Curtis of Potomac, Md.
Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
