The Rapp Hurricanes, U10 girls, wrapped up their Season with a 6-0 w in against Madison. Sarah Hazel opened whe scoring with her first goal (Jf the season, shooting a powerful shot into goal. Morgan Flournoy scored twice, once <5n a beautiful assist from Isabelle Eastham off a penalty kick. Isabelle scored off a Oice assist from Joslyn Smith. • Marcella Wallace scored and was part of one of the Oest plays of the game. Marcella saved the ball as it was going out of bounds to the right of the goal. She crossed tbe ball to Kendra Settle, who was in perfect position at the Qther post. Kendra then volleyed the ball home for her first goal of the season. There were a number of wonderful pjays. Taylor Light made Iftme great stops look easy in goal. In the second half Sarah Wheatley looked like a pro in her first time as goalie. J! We had a picnic after the gpme with plenty of sandwiches and cake from team tnom, Amy Kretz. We all sjgned a special shirt for Meredith Reeve, who has been a great player for us but is relocating to New Jersey. We’ll miss her.
The U-10 Culpeper AllStar team has asked us to scrimmage against them iliursday night to help them pfepare for an all-star tournafngnt they’re in. Their coach said the Hurricanes were one ofihe best teams they played kU season with both passing ajrd ball control. Most of the prls are also planning to take part in the Rapp Soccer Camp ljter in June. Ole’!! \ * The U-10 Dragons turned pp the heat Saturday night in the already-hot Comet Stadium, as they battled (Culpeper 5 to a 2-2 draw. IJvervone contributed, as the heat and the bigger field took a toll on the team’s stamina. The Dragons displayed their grit, though, and played their hearts out until the final <vyhistle. This has been a great Reason for Coach Racer’s team; they have done Happahannock proud!
