Department of Transportation office provides durable orange trash bags and safety vests and will also help with transferring full bags and other debris to county facilities. Participants may also take bags and debris themselves, especially if they wish to assure that materials which can be recycled get to the appropriate location. Interested participants can contact the local Virginia Department of Transportation office for bags, and to let them know when and where you would like them to come by to pick up materials after a clean-up. Bags and debris should be placed in a location where a VDOT truck can safely stop to load the materials. You can contact, Superintendent James Williams at (540) 987-8939 the road from the Flatwcod Refuse and Recycling facility. Hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m Monday through Friday.
