Ritchie Evelyn Downs, 89, died Feb. 15, at Kitty Asians Hospice Center in Goldsboro-, N.C.
She was bom in Culpeper County on June 10, 1915, a daughter'of James and Martha Freeman.
Mrs. Downs was a former resident of Amissville and retired from the the Future Farmers of America.
She is survived by a son, Richard E. Downs and his wife, Betty, of Snow Hill, N.C. and two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Additional survivors include five sisters; Gertrude Freeman of Culpeper, Mary Kearney of Washington D.C., Cornelia Knight, Edna Filter both from Illinois and Virginia Windsor of Maryland.
Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her husband, William Ashby Downs
A graveside service was held on Feb. 18, at Bright View Cemetery, in Warrenton.
