reported increases were 5.4 percent for Culpeper County.

Not only increases in teacher salaries, but increases in coaching stipends . were brought to the table. Currently Rappahannock County coaches are paid less than other schools in the district and in contiguous counties.

“Even if amounts are boosted we will still be below other areas because they are boosting as well, but we want to remain competitive,” said Chappell.

The one issue that was not about the budget was a request from Bob Chappell to the Board to approve a field trip to be taken by the culinary arts class. Teacher Mary Arthur wants to take students to Vermont and New York to expose them to schools available in the field of culinary arts.
