As for Rappahannock County, he said each wineiy site is different, and the final product depends on what the land gives its owners.
Not only does the land define the product, but also the constant changing climate found throughout the mountainous region.
With consumers choosing Virginia wines more and more, Duty sees a bright future for the vineyards in Rappahannock County.
“We all work together,” he said. “There is a real sense of community, with plenty of room for everybody. Wine making is a budding industry in Rappahannock County.”
