Another group of students in the “Leo Club,” sponsored by the Rappahannock Lion’s Club, has started a competing “Penny War” campaign to collect student donations throughout the month of F ebruary.
In addition, there is an ongoing campaign in the elementary school to encourage its students to contribute to the tsunami relief appeal. A report on their efforts is expected soon.
Thailand Tsunami Relief Organization
A group of about 30 Rappahannock County residents met on Januaiy 18 for a meeting at the Tbwn Hall of Washington to learn more about the work of a new organization set up to channel funds to Thailand and help in its recovery efforts.
