A trio of local women, calling themselves the “Chicks from Rappahannock,” took third place as a relay team in the Culpeper Sprint; Triathlon on August 7.
“I guess we had county pride” explained Carrie Mowatt-Larssen, a 40-year-old mom from Gid Brown Hollow. Mowatt-Laissen, competed along with two of her friends , Mindy Alexander of Woodville and Susana Barnes, also from Gid Brown Hollow.
The Culpeper Sprint triathlon consisted of a 750-meter swim through Mountain Run Lake, followed by a 17-mile bike ride and a 5K run. Competitors could either
