The Child Care and Learning Center located in Washington is just completing the fourth session of the 2005 Summer Camp program. Each of the two-week sessions have provided enriching summer activities for almost 50 schoolage children from five to twelve years old. These children have participated in a variety of mini-course sessions that have included such mini-camps as drama , rock, sportmanship , jump rope, crafts, skating, Shenandoah camp, space, swim, woodworking, 4-H camp, All About Me camp, Wizard of Oz, Americana camp, and science' and safety camp. The After School Club campers have attended many field trips from a Nationals game matinee, to a Hawksbill Nest hike, to Lake Arrowhead, to Signal Bay, to Big Meadows, to Splash Down to the Culpeper Farm show and daily trips to the 4-H pool.
