Loudoun County s Management & Financial Services is seeking an independent professional with strong team skills to oversee payroll processing, accounting and reporting with general supervision from the Assistant Comproller or his designee. Primary responsibilities will be auditing all County-wide payroll information and managing the payroll interface from the payroll and personnel management system (CYBORG) into the financial accounting and management information system (FAM1S); ensuring County's compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those applying to child support, garnishments, and federal an.d state levies. Duties include development and maintenance of payroll and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted payroll practices, generally accepted accounting principles, state and federal regulations and County policies. Provides payroll team leadership and limited supervision to payroll technicians on the team: participants on other teams as required. Position requires a thorough knowledge of payroll procedures, practices and techniques along with an extensive knowledge of accounting principles. Requires any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or related field and 3 years of professional payroll or accounting experience in either private or public payroll. Prefer a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Successful candidate will undergo credit and criminal background checks.
