Changes at Longlea
After the sale of Longlea in 1966, things began to change. A new road off Route 522 was built and named Freedom Way, marked now by its large red brick entryway. A joke aboqt the place was that in driving out from Culpeper and turning into Longlea, it would be the last left turn one would make. Freedom Way led to Security Circle and Alice Glass's old home, renamed as The Henry and Clare Boothe Luce Manor House. Names of buildings and rooms were honorary. Some
