Construction and repair of county buildings, pupil placement, fire gchool and road safety measures were among subjects discussed and acted on at the August Meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors.. W.C. Campbell of Washington recommended to the Board that sufficient money from the f unds for upkeep and building be appropriated to repair the old frame building at the jail, which was formerly used as a kitchen. He volunteered to assist in supervising this work with Board Chairman J. Newbill Miller. This was approved by the Board.

The first Rappahannock open Cross Country Run was held on Friday, August 8th at Blue Rock Farm. More than twenty competitors braved ninety degree weather while covering the 2.7mile course.
