I cannot understand why the
Board of Zoning Appeals turned down the request of the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company (AVFRC) for a zoning variance which consists of rezoning a one and a half acre parcel of land donated to the AVFRC.
The AVFRC wanted the variance so they could sell the parcel for more money as a possible residential property. The property does not bring any revenue to the county in the form of real property tax now.
