This led to the proposal by Town Attorney John Bennett that Pleasant View LLC build and maintain the access road as a private driveway, stipulating that it have enough room to allow emergency vehicles to turn around. A private driveway would alleviate town concerns about Washington's grid, because private drives do not appear on town maps and do not have to be the same width as Washington's roads.
“That might be the way to split the baby,” commented Brown.
