The proposed access road to the future site of the Pleasant View LLC subdivision in Washington could be constructed as a private driveway, removing it from the jurisdiction of the Town Council. The building of an access road to the future subdivision has been on the Town Council agenda for months, as the council and the property owner Jimmy DeBergh with his attorney Mike Brown tried to create a compromise that would work for the town and Pleasant View's future neighbor Diane Bruce. One of the key concerns of the Town Council and Town Planning Commission as they discussed the subdivision has been “keeping it with the grid” or maintaining the original look of Washington as it was originally surveyed by George Washington.
The council had asked Pleasant View and VDOT to put stakes in the ground marking the proposed access road as it connects to the “stub” of Wheeler street, near the intersection of Wheeler
