August 8,11:25 p.m. A resident of Evergreen road notified the Rappahannock County Sheriff s
Department that three male subjects in front of her : house were throwing fireworks in the road.
When the complainant advised the subjects to leave, they informed her that since it was a state road they could do what they wanted.
The subjects fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Task Force busy
Rappahannock County again received the special attention of the State Police in the form of the “In-House Task Force,” a method of redistributing the patrols and duties of local state police that allows greater vigilance on US-211 and Route 647, which are traditionally accident heavy areas in the summer.
Over the weekend state police involved with the effort gave out 29 tickets, 15 to motorcycles and 14 to cars and trucks.
