With a goal in mind, the couple began working at Wheatland Vegetable Farms in Purcellville, Va. “I think if we had gone to four different farms we wouldn’t have learned as much as we did by staying at the same place. Because we learned how different it was from season to season with different weather and markets, and were able to go and visit other farms, we got a lot more out of it.” After four years of studying farming techniques at Wheatland, Bynum and Plaksin decided it was time to start their own farm, and it was at this point that the connection was made with Miller.
