Her studies began at the University of Washington in Seattle in architecture and design, followed with interior design at Mt. Vernon College and lastly, classes with noted artists in the DC area. She has worked as a fashion designer and teacher, interior designer and space planner, designed furniture and supervised its construction for homes in the Philippines, Ethiopia and Algeria before turning to painting.
