land will be farmed responsibly and sustainably in the future and still be attractive for my heirs to continue to own. So I need to attract farmers who have the knowledge and skill to farm our land sustainably over the long haul, treating it as their own.
'Ibday’s paper has an article (see page A9) about one attempt at that. Rachel Bynum and Eric Plaksin are very talented farmers who are bringing a great deal to our community. At thirty, they are planning to grow old farming and raising their family at Waterpenny Farm on land owned by my family. I expect they are better at what they do than most farmers in the country and I rejoice that they are finding success farming in our community.
It was easier for me than Eric and Rachel to have them come and begin to farm the land and see if it suited and would make a long term
