Solid Waste Management
Position to provide "knowledge management" support to all solid waste management program areas. The Database Administrator / Technical Documentation Specialist has primary responsibility for documentation related to permitting, compliance, regulatory, environmental assurance and other solid waste management issues. The position oversees entry of approximately 150,000 database records per year in seven customized MS Access databases: maintains existing tracking, storage and retrieval systems for regulatory / compliance / environmental documentation and databases; provides quality control audits and corrective measures to OSWM database architecture, data quality, and reporting; identifies need for new systems and improvements to existing systems; uses statistical analysis to support business operations and policy decisions; develops, writes, and implements procedures; responds to requests for information: administers contracts; and manages special projects. Requires BA/BS in information management systems, records management, business / public administration, environmental sciences, or other related field and a minimum of three years of related experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills, team leader / player; demonstrated effectiveness in information / records management and database administration. Experience in defining requirements for relational database development and modifications preferred.
