Miller is very pleased with Waterpenny Farm and he wants to see more of his land worked by creative, hard-working young farmers. “Leasing thirty acres isn't the only solution to the farm turnover challenges Rappahannock faces but it is a positive to the community,” said Miller. With another 350 acres of open land Miller said he “wants it to be farmed as a progressive grass-based farm that raises animals humanely.”
Miller is hoping others, both land u\ mers and young farmers, will see the success this is for all parties and want to try it themselves.
