An SOL success story

According to unofficial tabulations of 2004-05 SOL pass rates both schools should be fully accredited for 200506. Grade 5 experienced its best pass rates ever on the following tests: English/Reading - 96%, English/Writing - 95%, and Math - 91%. Other pass rates at 90% or above were Grade 3 Math - 91%, Grade 7 Algebra I - 100%, Grade 8 Social Studies - 90%, Earth Science - 90% , World History I - 96%, World History II - 95%, US History - 91%, and Grade 11 English/Reading 93%. The school system is examining the percent of students scoring “pass advanced.” Both schools made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB). According to a preliminary report on the Virginia Department of Education’s website, the RCPS also made AYP for 2004-05.
