My focus at present is on working with another young farmer, Rebecca Brown, who is building a fascinating business raising and selling directly to consumers healthy grass fed and finished beef and lamb and free range pork and chicken eggs in a management intensive, natural manner on the 270 acres of grass we have (Rapp News July 7, page A8). Becky and I agree on our shared goals but reaching a long term agreement will be much more involved because of the amount of land and the capital investment involved. However, the same principals apply. Becky, a very talented farmer, will need to have the facilities, animals and equipment to manage her operation sustainably over the long haul.
