Mildred “Pete” Westcott Haworth, 77 of Warrenton, died Aug. 26, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton after a short stay due to a fall.
She was born January 10, 1928 to Mildred Valentine Westcott in Falls Church, Va. and since a young child has been known by the affectionate nickname “Pete” given to her by her older brother.
Mrs. Haworth moved to Warrenton with her new husband in 1952 and raised her three children there. While her children were young, she volunteered at numerous local schools and for many years at the Fauquier Hospital Thrift Shop. She worked with her husband in their auction and Aursery businesses. She loved traveling with her husband, family and friends and any type of shopping. Her other hobbies included playing cards, crossword puzzles and emailing her friends and family. She was an avid lifelong reader.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stan C. Haworth; two daughters- Diane and her husband Joe Matz of Amissville, Kathy and husband, Will Robinson of Warrenton; one son Bill Haworth and wife Ann of Marshall and five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
