August 30 update on preparations for the
opening of school
This afternoon Rappahannock County Building Inspector Richie Burke gave us authorization to occupy RCES for Kindergarten Orientation Wed, Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. He will inspect again Thursday, Sept. 1 before Meet the Teacher Night which is scheduled from 2:00 - 5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Superintendent Bob Chappell will be at the school at the above times Thursday to give tours' and to answer questions. The full RCES staff plus some substitute employees and volunteers from the community and the high school staff have been working hard to prepare the building for a September 6 opening and for meaningful instruction right from the start.
