However, if the Longlea development proceeds, its impact will not be confined to Culpeper County. It will have a major impact on Rappahannock County and could possibly be a precursor of what the county will have to face itself one day. Imagine Route 522 with over a thousand more cars traveling that curvy, hilly, two-lane road. There has even been talk of a traffic light in Boston to handle the increased traffic! This additional traffic will not just be cars as the development includes a commercial component that will have heavy truck traffic on a daily basis. In addition, many of the Longlea residents will be working in Northern Virginia. When these folks find Culpeper roads too crowded, you can bet they will start looking for alternative routes.
