There is a community meeting planned for the 18th of this month at 7:00 pm that looks to be some little event. This meeting was set up by last year’s board of directors for the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue department and several members of the Chester Gap community. Three points of interest are to be discussed with the biggest one mentioned being the tax increase and how it is related to the fire levy monies. Don’t misunderstand here folks, if you are coming thinking you’re going to have a chance to address the county supervisor/s about why your taxes went up then you’re wrong. The reason the tax increase is being mentioned is only in regard to the fire levy and how much of those tax dollars the Chester Gap Fire and Rescue Department actually receive from the taxes raised in our community.
