bout 7-4, then came back to post a 9-2 decision. In the quarter finals Greg won another tough 7-4 decision, moving him into the semifinals. In that match Greg faced off with James Linkous of Christiansburg. Greg won that match by pin placing him in the finals to match off with Zach Epperly of Christiansburg. This match was tough fought with Greg scoring the first take-down to lead 2-0, Epperly evened the score on a reversal and the match ended the third period tied at 4-4. Jacob Racer faced off with Tted Gottwald from St Christopher’s in his opening bout. Jacob fell by a pin in the second period. Gottwald went on to place sixth in the 135 lb division. Jacob then faced off with Jordan Smith of Williamsburg. Jacob led after the first period 2-0 but eventually lost a close decision to Smith.
‘1 think it was the best match that Jacob has wrestled this year. His heart and determination showed by his tremendous effort,” said Coach Miller who is extremely proud of him.
John Mello faced off with Randy Schuler and won by a score of 12-2. In his next match he faced Tony Blankenship from Grundy. John was trailing 2-1 in the second period when he fell by pin. Blankenship went on to finish second in the 145# division. Then John recorded a 13 second pin in his next match. In the final match
