As one of the students observed, “drama rocked” at the Rappahannock County High School’s auditorium Friday evening where some 40 drama students presented a remarkable evening of entertainment.
Judging by the applause and laughter from the audience, there was no doubt that the “Actors’ Showcase” was a success. And much of this credit is a reflection of the energy, dedication, and abilities of a large group of talented high school students.
“I am so proud of the students, many of whom had never been on a stage before September. They rose to the occasion on Friday evening and achieved more than they realized they could achieve,” said a very delighted Miranda Hope who took on the school’s drama program this year.
Hope continued to praise her students by noting, “Acting requires many skills: concentration, vocal and physical strength, organization and teamwork, memorization, and an ability to work under pressure. It also requires an understanding of human emotion and human relations, courage and creativity.”
