Hearthstone School News
The fourth and fifth grades are currently studying Norse mythology, and are writing a play with these characters. In English class, they are beginning a poetry unit to help prepare for the upcoming poetry reading at the Ki Theatre in February, which all students at Hearthstone will participate in again this year.
The fourth and fifth grades are also preparing for a music concert at the Warrenton Senior Center, which is scheduled for February 20.
The fourth through seventh grade classes recently took a field trip to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., where they studied the works of Renoir, Van Gogh, Manet and Monet. They also enjoyed an African Imax movie, which tied into a previous study block on animals.
