excuse of karate or lack of sleep, she would tell us what had happened to her.
I’ll admit, Aia is bigger than her mother, in the way of height, but that’s all.
The issue with Aia and her father was that there was no issue.
Aia really didn’t- care that her father wasn’t around. She had no hidden rage about the fact that he wasn’t around. My own mother, who has met Aia when she visited our home, said, “Aia was always very sweet and very considerate. She’d say hello, give us a soda or something as a thank you gift for letting her come over, and then go off with Emily. She never appeared angry or moody, just a nice kid.”
Aia is still a nice kid. Her sense of humor was wicked at times, but it doesn’t make her any less of a nice kid. She has written me a letter in reply to one I had sent to her, and she apologized to me and all her friends for what happened.
She had thought she had ruined my birthday for the events that transpired on January 5th. She wished she had never gone home.
My friends and I had been concerned that many of you reading the articles in the newspaper about Aia would think that she was some violent, out of control teenager.
