Rescheduled Rappahannock, Blue Ridge set in Berryville
Better late than never, the Rappahannock and Blue Ridge Hunts team up for a shared point-to-point this Saturday, March 31. Both meets, originally carded the first two Saturdays of March, fell prey to a region-wide quarantine after an outbreak of a deadly and highly contagious horse disease.
With few “open” dates on the busy spring ‘chase calendar in Virginia, race officials decided to partner for the Saturday event. Many things are shared: tickets purchased in advance for both races will be honored at the gate, and the race program will contain ads from both clubs. The races are at the BRH course at Woodley Farm, since the Berryville course has £ bit more room for parking. Race conditions were slightly changed to avoid conflict with Sunday’s .Orange County meet. Carded are maiden, novice, owner-rider and ladies timber, and maiden, open and Virginia-bred flat, along with junior and senior field masters chases.
