Pizzarelli and
the Statesmen
of Jazz return
to The Theatre
On Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m. the Statesmen of Jazz return to the Theatre at Washington, Virginia with another lineup of extraordinary musicians: Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar, Warren Vache on comet; John Bunch on piano; Jay Leonhart, bass; Mickey Roker, drums. *
They are the same “cast of characters” who, just last year, recorded an outstanding tribute to Freddie “Pepper” Greene, whose “sound” has been described as the Holy Grail of rhythm guitar. The CD which they recorded, on the Arbors label, is called “5 for Freddie: Bucky Pizzarelli’s Tribute to Freddie Green”.
Between them, the five musicians joining in this tribute can boast a total of 25Q years playing jazz.
