correct. Who can afford to live in Rappahannock County anymore?
Our graduates leave because there are no jobs.
Young couples and retirees can’t afford recently increased taxes.
Few can afford to. buy the minimum of 25 acres.
Small parcels to build on are not allowed, so young families don’t come here.
What are we doing to' ourselves?
There are no apartments for families or facilities for retirees.
We are basically purging ourselves of all but the very rich. How sad.
Where’s the tax base? They are moving away. Pretty soon we won’t need schools, because families will go elsewhere.
Honestly, if we didn’t have grandchildren in this county, we would be gone to North Carolina or someplace affordable.
Rappahannock County has got to stop and make some changes before it’s too late.
