The comment made by Jean Lillard about football is totally inaccurate. The school pays only $13,160 for football, and that is only for the coaches. RCSSA pays for everything else for the football program.
Part of the $116,975 cut from the budget above could be used for lights for the football/soccer/track, so that Friday night games could be played, as was originally planned.
Once we have the lights, football will be self-sufficient. Most people who want to go to the games now cannot, because they are on Saturdays, and their children are involved in sports in other counties during the fall season.
The other item in the budget that needs to be looked at is the health insurance. We are paying way too much to insure our employees. Group policies are supposed to be cheaper than individual policies, yet the school pays more to insure a family than I pay for my health insurance.
