While all students that attended did not bring back trophies, they agreed the experience was rewarding as they represented Rappahannock Puolic Schools, and networked with other students with similar interests.
This year over 200 students attended the conference which was presided over by Joe Vickers as the Northern Region President. Tyler Crews accompanied him on the center stage as the Northern Region Parliamentarian. The Rappahannock TSA team already has several students that are applying for regional offices for next year.
“It would be great if more and more young people would make the commitment to get involved,” said Vickers, “Even though most members of the High School chapter are seniors and they had the “Mr. Rappahannock” contest the same evening, they spent the day bring TSA.”
Vickers also gave credit for the teams success to the teachers, noting that several of the elementary students placed in the contests.
At the end of April, selected students will go on to the state contest, “Technosphere ’07,” in Hampton, VA.
