An ideal host
For many attendees at the workshop, Rappahannock is a shining example of a community that has managed to preserve its rural and historic character.
County Administrator John McCarthy explained to the crowd that Rappahannock is well preserved through a combination of citizen effort and circumstance. The county has no railroads, no interstate highways, no airports and is not on the way to any major population center.
