FOR THE TOWN OF WASHINGTON TO
CONSIDER COMP PLAN ADMENDMENTS KINDLY TAKE NOTICE that the Town Council and Planning Commission of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a joint public hearing on the 13th day of June, 2007, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall of Washington, Virginia to consider the adoption of an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Washington adding provisions to establish a policy to set forth under what circumstances the Town will consider an adjustment to its boundaries or the establishment of a service district for utilities and the zoning classification that any property included in such area brought into the Town boundaries or included in such service area will have. Any new area within the Town boundaries will be part of the Historic Overlay District and generally will be in a zoning classification the same or more restrictive than its classification in the County prior to inclusion and shall not be further subdivided. There are other provisions as to utility connections and nonconforming uses as well as provisions relating to commercial areas. A complete copy of the proposed ordinance is available at the town offices Airing normal business hours. All are invited to attend the public hearing at the time and place aforesaid and present their views.The hearing is being held in a public facility believed to be accessible to persons with disabilities.
