When looking at the photo of the cast you are probably wondering how Norm and Joan Getsinger qualify for the Young Actors’ Wing of the Rappahannock Repertory company. Well, the most wonderful development has occurred. In addition to the growing number of enthusiastic young actors, several more-seasoned thespians have joined our ranks. In addition to the Getsingers, Lindy Klaus, Joyce Abell, Dawn Schimke, and Vanessa Spence have been cast in the play. We also look forward to inviting Geoff Go wan, Hal Hunter, and Helen Williams to our ranks in the future, if they will have us.

You might ask, how does a company with so great an age range get along. Swimmingly! The amazing concern and respect for the more senior actors has created a sense of family; while a feeling of youthful vigor bubbles up from the young folks causing a feeling of accidental grand parenting Sharing years of knowledge and experience across the ages, actors like Joyce Abell take many of the young under her wing. In her caring, yet focused, “no-nonsense” private coaching sessions, nothing passes her notice. Articulation, body alignment, energy, and pronunciation take on new meaning when a fledgling actor like Zack Huff Wes Kitchen, or Devin Lindsey spend an intensive hour under Joyce’s direction.
