Heroes, Lovers and Elves:
A Shakespearean Panorama
Play dates are June 15,16,17,22,23,24,29, 30 and July 1
The Rappahannock Repertory Company under the gracious sponsorship of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community will present a pageant drawn from scenes of the works of William Shakespeare. A cast of over 30 actors wM portray many of the well-known characters as Henry V, Juliet, Romeo, and Macbeth, as wen as lesser-known and often very funny characters. The cast which ranges in age from 2 years old to 87 years young have been costumed by Marie Scavetti and will perform to a sound track designed by Matt Fitzgerald. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:00, Sunday matinees at 3:00 in Cliff Miller’s School House in SpenyviHe. A demonstration of stage combat and safety and Madrigal singing wM be offered just preceding the start of the play. Author Larry Buttram wilt be on hand Saturday, vtone 16, at 2:00 p.m. to discuss his latest book, The Greatest Gift.” A collection of short stories, the title story is about Stephanie Renner, a six year old who is diagnosed with a fetal illness. She asks to be taken to the top of Mount Everest so she can be closer to heaven and talk to Jesus. In desperation her parents take he to The Greatest Gift Foundation, an organization which grants sick children their last request The foundation's director has never tailed a child before but is now being asked to do the impossible. The story teis how he responds.

Saturday, June 16, from 2-3:30 Don WHiams is the Senior Furniture Conservator at the Smithsonian
Institution’s Museum Conservation Institute near Washington, D.C., and expert co-author of the book “Saving Stuff: How to Care for and Preserve Vbur Most Collectibles, Heirlooms, and Other Prized Possessions.” In this presentation, “Preserving Personal Heritage” Mr. Williams wi discuss the opportunities and challenges of preserving family and community treasures. Almost everyone has some items with special value tor them whether these are personal mementos, inherited family heirlooms, or valued investments. In “Saving Stuff,” Don shows how you can effectively preserve your own treasures without going to extreme efforts and expense.
